Supporting stability where complexity is highest

Behavioural Risk & Engagement Trust (BRET) provides non-clinical behavioural engagement and stabilisation services that work alongside Behaviour Support Practitioners and service providers supporting high-complexity male cohorts.

We specialise in early engagement, interim stabilisation, and real-world implementation support — particularly where disengagement, justice involvement, AOD history, or family system stress prevents plans from taking effect.

WHO WE SUPPORT

BRET works with organisations supporting individuals who are:

  • Experiencing complex behavioural presentations
  • Disengaged or resistant to traditional services
  • Involved with justice, child protection, or multiple systems
  • At risk of service breakdown or escalation
  • Requiring male-to-male engagement to build trust and rapport

Our services are designed to complement existing clinical and governance frameworks — not replace them.

WHAT WE DO

Behavioural Engagement & Stabilisation

We provide structured engagement and stabilisation support during the most challenging stages of service delivery, including:

  • Rapport-building with high-resistance participants
  • Interim stabilisation prior to Behaviour Support Plans taking effect
  • Behavioural de-escalation in community and home settings
  • Supporting consistency during periods of escalation or transition

Implementation Support (Non-Clinical)

We assist providers by helping translate strategies into real-world environments:

  • Supporting implementation of Behaviour Support strategies
  • Observing behavioural patterns and contextual factors
  • Providing practical feedback to BSPs and care teams
  • Supporting families and carers under stress

Risk & Continuity Support

Our role exists to reduce pressure on frontline practitioners and prevent avoidable escalation:

  • Supporting continuity where engagement is fragile
  • Reducing practitioner burnout in high-intensity cases
  • Acting as a stabilising presence during complex periods
  • Helping services retain participants others struggle to support

HOW WE WORK

BRET operates as an independent specialist consultancy, not an employment or support-worker service.

We work alongside existing teams under clear boundaries:

  • Non-clinical
  • Non-signatory
  • No authoring or approval of Behaviour Support Plans
  • No restrictive practice authority

All clinical governance, authorisation, and reporting remains with the provider.

ENGAGEMENT MODEL

Services are delivered through a retainer-based specialist access model, allowing providers to:

  • Secure priority access to specialist engagement capacity
  • Deploy support selectively where risk and complexity are highest
  • Maintain predictable costs
  • Avoid employment and onboarding risk

Short-term pilot engagements are available to assess fit and impact.

WHY PROVIDERS WORK WITH BRET

  • Immediate engagement capacity with recruitment delays
  • Support for the most challenging male cohorts
  • Reduced escalation and service breakdown
  • Protected BSP time and practitioner wellbeing
  • Clear governance boundaries and audit-safe positioning

Our role is to support stability — quietly, professionally, and effectively
